Ad Creative Student, Haven Youngblood, Reimagines Sorority TikTok
How an ad creative student blends internship experience with social media content creation

The first time ad creative student, Haven Youngblood, watched one of her TikTok video’s gain views, she realized her internship skills could be more than a resume filler. These skills can transform her sorority’s online presence.
Youngblood interned with Princeton Management, a property management company that focuses on managing multifamily, commercial, industrial and manufactured housing communities.
During her time there, Youngblood filmed apartment videos, edited them and posted them. She also worked on award posts highlighting different maintenance workers across the apartment complexes. She says the experience helped her practice and improve her video production and storytelling skills.

“My internship taught me how to use Canva, and it helps get my creative juices flowing,” said Youngblood.
Now, within Youngblood’s sorority, Delta Gamma, she oversees its TikTok. Building on her internship experience with her newfound knowledge of Canva and improved design skills, Youngblood creates professional and engaging content for Delta Gamma’s social media.
“I’m most proud of our recruitment video this year because I spent all summer working on it. When we showed it to the chapter, they were all cheering and really loved it,” said Youngblood.
Youngblood says she often follows trends and looks at what sororities are doing at other schools to get ideas for Delta Gamma’s TikTok, much like she did when developing ideas for content at Princeton Management. She says harnessing trends and using research insights keeps the content fresh and engaging and brings in new viewers.
From working on her high school yearbook and photographing sporting events to taking a social media management class, Youngblood always knew this was the path she wanted to pursue. Youngblood has taken classes in this realm and fell into the interest of advertising. Working with Princeton Management and Delta Gamma TikTok have only reinforced her purpose and direction.
“I want to work for an advertising agency or even like a PR agency,” said Youngblood
