Presley Bergmooser, advertising management graduate, has combined her love of art and interest in AD+PR into a successful business “Presleymadeit.” Bergmooser began her business on Instagram by painting jeans, and jean jackets to sell, but was quickly drawn to the challenge of mural work. She was able to build a big clientele in East Lansing, Michigan, compared to where she originally is from, a small-town Monroe, Michigan. She says she was drawn to the fast-paced, heavily social environment that East Lansing has to offer, and her business has flourished because of it.

Bergmooser has always had a passion for the arts, especially painting, but never really knew quite where it would take her. Presleymadeit first got recognized at MSU for her game day-painted jean jackets, even members of the football team have purchased a jacket from her, supporting her small business. Bergmooser said she wanted to do something that offered more financial consistency in terms of making a living but still incorporating her business and passions.

“I found a love for painting murals and the idea of hundreds of people seeing my work,” said Bergmooser.

By using skills learned in AD+PR classes, Bergmooser expanded the reach of her business beyond MSU students and toward other professional institutions. Bergmooser said used the classes she has taken at MSU and met with her advisors to help create an amazing resume so that she is able to put her name out there in a larger scale. She designed and painted multiple murals, two in Monroe, and one inside of the HopCat restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Through these experiences she has decided that post-graduation, she wants to paint full-time and will be taking six months to travel in search of opportunities to paint murals all over the country.

Though creating such large-scale works takes patience, Bergmooser says she for her, it comes easy.

“Time does not exist to me when I go to paint, I see the vision and I just go for it,” she said.
